Meet Attorney Steven D. Rothblatt
Steven D. Rothblatt is a native of Somerset, New Jersey and graduated from Franklin High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. Mr. Rothblatt graduated from Law School at the American University, Washington College of Law, Washington DC with a Juris Doctor Degree, where he was an Executive Officer with the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity and had internships with the U.S. Attorney's Office, Criminal Trial Section and the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office, Somerville, N.J.
Mr. Rothblatt was admitted to the New Jersey bar in 1984. He began his legal career as a Deputy Attorney General with the New Jersey Attorney General's Office, Division of Criminal Justice where he worked in the Major Fraud and Unemployment Fraud Units. Mr. Rothblatt was appointed as the chief municipal prosecutor in three towns for a total of 23 years, namely Franklin Township for twelve years, Warren Township for six years, and Raritan Borough for five years. As a municipal prosecutor he was also able to participate in the Fugitive Safe Surrender Program in a four day period in 2010 when four thousand fugitives surrendered to law enforcement.
Mr. Rothblatt was a member of the initial group of lawyers that were certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Municipal Court Trial Attorney in 2014.
